You have changed a lot of signatures in Talk pages (formatting of date).
That makes no sense to me, since that dat[sic] is added automatically with the signature —Bart (talk) 19:21, 21 September 2023 (CEST)
- Yeah, it's just a force of habit after almost 20 years of editing on Wikipedia and other MediaWiki-powered sites. The
{{#formatdate:…}}
magic word automatically reads the user's date style from their site preferences and displays it accordingly, which the auto-signature feature doesn't do. I took care to set the default format to the way it had been before, for users who aren't logged in or haven't set a style in their preferences, so I don't think anything was materially changed or lost, only new functionality added. I, of course, would never edit a page simply to do that, but when I happen to be editing one for other reasons and happen upon a date in the text I tend to wrap it in the magic word along the way; I believe the page you're speaking of I was attempting to clear the linter error regarding the use of deprecated syntax in the<syntaxhighlight>
tags and it was exceptionally untidy to start with, with inconsistent indentation and out-of-sequence responses, so I just did my best. Was there something you wanted done differently, or were you merely curious as to my motivations? —RogueScholar (talk) 17:20, September 27, 2023 (PDT)
CudaText page
I see you made 5 columns for the lexers list. but with my monitor Firefox can fit only 4 columns on 1 monitor. column 5 is placed below the column 4. so: better to change to 4 columns. Thanks for your editions. —Alextpp (talk) 21:41, 3 October 2023 (CEST)
- Understood, I'll update the page to split into four columns instead. It's been enjoyable making some updates to the page, as someone who's used CudaText for nearly every bit of text editing/coding I've done for at least the last 6-7 years and regularly refers to the wiki page for guidance, it had reached the point where the length of it began to feel onerous, so I wanted to try and fix that. I'm glad you approve. :) —RogueScholar (talk) 01:21, October 4, 2023 (CEST)
