Lazarus wiki talk:Privacy policy
Guarantee privacy?
"Neither the Lazarus nor the Free Pascal team nor any of their contributors can guarantee your privacy." Seems a bit pessimistic. What about "Although the Lazarus and the Free Pascal team will do their best to safeguard any personal data we collect, we can guarantee your privacy." ... or replace by some boilerplate text from other sites that have the same idea...
- Yes, this is better. I changed the passage accordingly.--Jwdietrich 11:49, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Just noticed I wrote "can guarantee" which should of course be "cannot guarantee"... Took the liberty of changing the page.
- This is now obsolete since the privacy policy has been updated according to GDPR and https://www.freepascal.org/privacy.var. --Jwdietrich (talk) 17:25, 3 June 2018 (CEST)

Commercial gain?
Why limit yourself to commercial gain? Why not replace "...Additionally, we make use of statistical services by Sourceforge and Berlios, as well as regular Apache logging. The data collected by these tools will not be distributed by us for commercial gain." with "Additionally, we make use of statistical services by Sourceforge and Berlios, as well as regular Apache logging. Unless required for legal reasons, any data that can be traced to individuals that is collected by these tools will not be distributed by us. We may however distribute aggregated, non-personnally identifiable information."
- This is a great improvement. I changed section according to your suggestion.--Jwdietrich 11:49, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
